Surveyors and state inspectors read your policies first, then check whether your staff follow them. Policies copied from another program, or never updated, tend to fail on both counts. We write them around your real program.
New operators
We create your policies and procedures from the ground up. You and your team review and approve each one, and we submit them to the state along with your application.
Existing operators
Send us the policies you have now and we update them to the most current state requirements. We train your staff on the changes, then revise again each quarter or whenever your facility changes its own policies.
New policies
Any policy your program is missing gets written from scratch, so a surveyor or state inspector does not find a gap where a required policy should be.
Rewrites
Policies that exist but do not line up with the standard they are meant to meet get rewritten. We keep what already works for your program and fix what does not.
Procedures
A policy says what you do. A procedure says who does it and how. We write procedures clear enough that a new staff member can follow them without guessing.
Alignment to the standards
For Joint Commission we work from the Elements of Performance, the specific expectations listed under each standard. For CARF ASAM Level of Care certification we work from the defining elements, which must all be met. For other accreditors and your state, we use the rules that apply to you.
After the policies are written
We train your staff on them, then audit charts and records to confirm the paperwork matches what people do. If something does not match, we fix the policy or the practice with you, whichever is wrong.
Written for you
Nothing here is cookie cutter. Each policy is written with you and for you, tailored to how you actually intend to operate your program.
Where do your policies stand?
Take the compliance self-assessment, or look at our full list of services. If you are working toward accreditation, see our Joint Commission accreditation consulting.
Opening a program, or running sites in more than one state, means each set of policies has to fit that state's rules and your accreditor's standards. We write them to match.
When the policy manual is out of date or was copied from another program, patching it rarely works. We rebuild the policies and procedures from the start around how you really operate.
Behavioral health and substance use disorder programs too large to wing it and too busy for staff to own the policy manual. We write it and keep it current.
Some teams need more than documents. We train your staff on the policies and audit charts and records, so people can show a surveyor that they follow them.
